LET ME TALK
MY DREAMS
- MARGO JONES -
A SOLO PERFORMANCE INSPIRED BY THE LIFE AND LETTERS OF MARGO JONES
MARGO JONES
MEET THE THEATRE LEGEND AND INNOVATOR
Margo Jones isn't interested in dreams without action.
In fact, she dedicated her life to her biggest dream of all: to decentralize theatre from New York City. She dreamed to build playhouses all over the country where audiences could see the best in theatrical art, and she worked endlessly to establish theatres where playwrights could develop their new works, and where actors, designers and all theatre artists
could have security and dignity in their work.
Her theatre in Dallas premiered works from Tennessee Williams, William Inge, Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, to name a few. And in addition to her work in Dallas, she co-directed the first production of The Glass Menagerie on Broadway and spear-headed the first
Broadway production of Summer and Smoke.
We invite you to spend an evening with this pioneer in American theatre
to hear her stories that shaped the Dallas arts scene
as well as the American theatre.
"I am not interested in dreams without action."
